BUT GOD sent me to the Teen Challenge Program ...to help get rid of this problem I had (ME) so He could begin to build a solid foundation in my life. I graduated Teen Challenge Farm and became a disciple of the Word of God. I went on to graduate Bible College. Then I attended McMaster University to further my studies in addictions education. I did this while working part-time on the prayer lines at 100 Huntley Street and "NiteLite" a nightly call in show. God made all this happen because of a God given burden I have had to help people who were hurting and are controlled by alcohol, drugs, porn and the list goes on and on. God has proven Himself real in my life and He continues to show His favor when it comes to hearing other addicts screaming...”Stop the pain!”

God's business is answering prayers. I did my time in prison and when I got out in the fall of ’91. I went to live with a friend of mine, Terry and his family who lived out in Cambridge ON. I wanted be close to my friend George and his family because they treated me with love and respect. There was something different about these people. They didn’t judge me for my short comings or my attitude toward life. This was the same George who would sit outside of my home in Kitchener and pray for me, even though he seen the people coming and going from my home with drugs that they had just bought from me or were smoking with me. This is a testimony to His glory, God answers the prayers of His saints. George’s prayers cut through all the hardness of my heart even though I had nothing to give him in return.

This had never happened to me before in life, there was always a catch, people just don’t do things in order to give you or me a better way in life, or so I thought. This was the opposite of what I had seen and learned about life, after-all I was only looking out for number one, “me.” God used George’s prayers to allow the Holy Spirit of God to start tenderizing my heart. I lasted about nine months in Cambridge until I ventured out to find an old friend, or so I told myself. Real I was looking to get high on drugs because I was still lonely. I was not comfortable by myself. At this point in my life I could be in the middle of a crowded area and still feel completely lonely. Anyways once I started to do the drugs, there was no turning back. During this nine months sober, I had been invited to see the Teen Challenge Choir perform at a church. George asked me if I would like to go and see what living at the Teen Challenge Farm was like. Well, I real had no choice in the matter my friend’s wife, where I had been living, wanted me out of their house, who could blame her. I said I was going to see a friend, I just didn’t tell her that this so called friend of mine wanted to take my life, crack cocaine.,..continued>>>
